Through Dec. 15, six Lady Tigers were averaging between 6.0 and 13.3 points per game. In that span, Ozark had recorded an impressive 62 assists on 89 field goals.
"Just get it to the girl that's hot that night," junior guard Brooke Paulsell said of Ozark's offensive approach. "We're really, I feel like, an unselfish ballclub this year." The Lady Tigers are hopeful their balance will be beneficial in the Pink White, during which they face the prospect of playing four games in four days on a college court. "If someone's legs aren't there that day or their shot's just not there that day, that doesn't mean we won't win," Wacha said, "because we'll have someone else hopefully step in and take that role." For Ozark's offense to keep clicking, Wacha said, the Lady Tigers have to be comfortable with a degree of individual anonymity. "I don't care how many times my name's in the paper or whoever's name's in the paper," Wacha said, "as long as Ozark is the paper, period." With its impressive start and and lofty Pink White seed, Ozark has grabbed its fair share of headlines. Now, the Lady Tigers are out to prove they're worth the hype and high seed.
